The role of the Parent and Community Services Specialist has many different elements, but none as important as helping parents locate child care and creating a warm introduction between parents and child care providers.

Finding the right child care program is one of the most important decisions a parent can make for their child.  Whether the choice is between a program close to home or work or somewhere in-between, a center based program or family child care home, a half-day or full-day program or a program that teaches a foreign language. The choices can be endless.  That is where I can help, with a birds-eye view and established relationships with all of the
programs in Erie, Huron, Lorain, Sandusky and Seneca Counties; I can guide parents through the decision-making process.
Once parents have an idea of the type of child care services they’re looking for and have received a list of referrals from the Child Care Resource Center, it’s time for the parent and provider to make a connection. We maintain a database of all childcare providers in our service delivery area and making sure that the information is up-to-date, we can help parents and providers find one another.
