Strengthening Families Framework
The Strengthening Families Learning Network (SFLN) project is a newly funded state-wide initiative designed to build protective factors for families through Ohio’s early care and education system. This project utilizes the Strengthening Families(SF) Framework which was developed by the Center for the Study of Social Policy (CSSP). It is an evidenced based practice designed to prevent child abuse and neglect by incorporating five protective factors that build parental resilience and ensure the wellness of children. The five protective factors identified and supported by the Strengthening Families Framework are:
- parental resilience,
- social connections,
- knowledge of parenting and child development,
- concrete support in times of need and the social
- emotional competence of children.
Future expansion of the project is being planned and funding is being sought. If you have questions about the project or want to be considered for future program expansion, please contact Delisa Nelson at 440-960-7187 ext. 245.
