What is the Ohio Healthy Program Designation?

Ohio Healthy Programs (OHP) funded by the Ohio Department of Health focuses on Early Childhood Education and Out-of-School Time programs creating healthy habits, menus, policies and family engagement to address childhood obesity. Designations are valid for two years.

Steps towards this designation include: 

  • Attending Ohio Approved training for administrators, cooks, and teachers
  • Implementing one new wellness policy every two years
  • Improving menus
  • Engaging families
