Parent and Youth Ambassadors (PYAs) are caring, local community members who are here to help you and your family find answers and get connected to the support you need—especially during stressful times. Their help is completely free and available before, during, or after a crisis.
PYAs have personal experience with Ohio’s social service systems, like healthcare, special education, or mental health services. They’ve been in your shoes and understand how overwhelming, confusing, or scary it can feel to try to figure things out on your own. Because of this, they listen without judgment and are trustworthy, understanding, and easy to talk to.
PYAs can help with all kinds of needs—from breastfeeding and child care to more complicated situations involving multiple services for your child or family. They’ll walk beside you, share resources, and help you feel confident in taking the next steps.
PYAs are here to guide you, point you in the right direction, and help open doors to support in your community.
Below are a few examples of the types of assistance PYA’s can also provide:

No eligibility requirements, no judgment—just support.
